Abstract
Energi listrik merupakan energi yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam dunia industri maupun kehidupan sehari-hari. Seiring dengan pertambahan jumlah penduduk Indonesia, penggunaan energi listrik di Indonesia semakin meningkat sehingga menyebabkan ketersediaan sumber energi menjadi menipis. Salah satu pemanfaatan energi alternatif yang terbarukan dan ramah lingkungan yang sangat banyak sumber dayanya adalah energi air sebagai penggeratk turbin. Turbin air menjadi salah satu pemanfaatan energi air di indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk„mengetahui pengaruh variasi deflektor pelat lengkung terhadap performa yang„dihasilkan pada„turbin air„Savonius sumbu vertikal tiga„sudu. Penelitian ini memvariasikan deflektor pelat lengkung yang digunakan sebesar 1/2 lingkaran, 1/4 lingkaran dan 3/8 lingkaran. Pengambilan data berupa kecepatan putaran turbin dan pembebanan pada turbin. Setelah dilakukan pengambilan data didapatkan hasil yaitu penggunaan deflektor pelat lengkung 1/2 lingkaran mendapatkan hasil yang terbaik yaitu dengan kecepatan putaran turbin maksimum sebesar 210,3 rpm dan daya maksimum sebesar 0,200 Watt.
