Abstract
Pada dokumen Laporan Akhir Penyusunan Rencana Pembangunan dan Pengembangan Perumahan (RP3) Kota Balikpapan Tahun 2019, disebutkan bahwa arahan peningkatan kondisi kawasan permukiman kumuh salah satunya berada di Kelurahan Baru Tengah Kecamatan Balikpapan Barat dengan penanganan peremajaan permukiman kumuh yang berkelanjutan. Kelurahan Baru Tengah ditetapkan kawasan kumuh seluas 22,51 Ha dengan deliniasi kawasan kumuh pada pesisir pantai Teluk Balikpapan, sehingga dibutuhkan upaya peningkatan kualitas permukiman dan diperlukan perumussan strategi yang sesuai dan berkelanjutan untuk masa depan dengan program peremajaan kota (Urban Renewal) pada kawasan permukiman nelayan Kelurahan Batu Tengah Kota Balikpapan. Metode yang akan digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah desriptif kuantitatif untuk melakukan eksplorasi dalam menentukan program Urban Renewal yang dapat diterapkan pada Kawasan Permukiman Nelayan Kelurahan Baru Tengah, kemudian alat analisis yang akan digunakan pada tahap selanjutnya adalah untuk merumuskan strategi dilakukan analisis SWOT. Sehingga dari penelitian ini didapatkan Strategi peningkatan Kawasan Permukiman Nelayan dengan pendekatan Sustainable Development berdasarkan program Urban Renewal pada permukiman nelayan.
