Abstract
Pabrik pentaeritritol dengan kapasitas 20.000 ton/tahun dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri dan diharapkan mampu bersaing dengan pasar global. Selain itu, pra rancangan pabrik ini dimanfaatkan dalam bidang industri kimia sebagai bahan baku pembuatan alkyd resin. Proses produksi pentaeritritol ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan proses, yaitu tahap persiapan bahan baku, tahap reaksi atau pembentukan pentaeritritol dan tahap pemisahan dan pemurnian. Pabrik ini rencananya akan didirikan di Kabupaten Serang, Banten, Indonesia dengan luas 30.013 m2. Adapun modal tetap (FCI) dan modal kerja (WCI) yang dibutuhkan dalam pembangunan pabrik ini berturut-turut sebesar Rp. 123.223.818.622 dan Rp. 21.745.379.757 sehingga jumlah modal investasi (TCI) pabrik ini sebesar Rp. 144.969.198.379. Berdasarkan aspek kelayakan ekonomi nilai DCFRR pabrik ini sebesar 27%, ROI sebesar 44%, POT selama 1.9 tahun, dan BEP sebesar 29%. Dari aspek tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik pentaeritritol ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut. Kata kunci : Alkyd resin, Kristalisasi, Pentaeritritol
