Abstract

Paraxylene diproduksi dengan bahan baku toluene melalui proses disproporsionasi sehingga diperoleh kapasitas produk sebesar 100.000 ton/tahun. Pabrik paraxylene ini direncanakan berdiri di Kota Cilegon, Banten dan beroperasi selama 330 hari, 24 jam dalam setahun. Proses produksi paraxylene dimulai dengan bahan baku toluene 97% yang direaksikan dengan katalis ZSM-5 dan bantuan hidrogen 99% di dalam Reaktor Fixed Bed Multitube pada kondisi operasi suhu 470C dan tekanan 21 atm. Produk paraxylene yang dihasilkan memiliki kemurnian sebesar 99,8% dan produk samping berupa benzene memiliki kemurnian sebesar 99%. Dibutuhkan bahan baku berupa toluene 97% sebanyak 30.389,95 kg/jam dan hidrogen 99% sebanyak 12.626,26 kg/jam. Berdasarkan analisis kelayakan ekonomi, pabrik ini membutuhkan biaya modal tetap (FCI) sebesar $ 20.493.660 dan biaya modal kerja (WCI) $ 3.616.528 dengan total modal investasi (TCI) $ 24.110.188,64, nilai DCFR sebesar 44%, ROI sebesar 40%, dan BEP sebesar 56%. Disimpulkan bahwa pabrik paraxylene ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
