Abstract

Listrik banyak digunakan dalam rumah tangga dan industri. Konsumsi energi listrik meningkat seiring pertumbuhan penduduk dan ekonomi. Distribusi energi listrik masih kurang merata, sulit dijangkau di beberapa pemukiman. Sumber energi listrik yang dominan adalah energi fosil yang terbatas. Potensi energi air dapat dimanfaatkan dengan turbin Crossflow sebagai penggerak utama dalam pembangkit listrik tenaga air. Pada penerapan turbin Crossflow tersebut, hasil daya dan efisiensinya dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantara-Nya yakni penggunaan jumlah debit dan sudut bukaan Guide Vane. Dalam melaksanakan penelitian ini akan dilakukan percobaan dengan menggunakan variasi debit air dan sudut bukaan Guide Vane yang nantinya akan diketahui pengaruhnya terhadap nilai daya dan efisiensi yang dihasilkan. Pengambilan data dilakukan di laboratorium terpadu ITK dengan menggunakan turbin Crossflow skala laboratorium, generator DC, multimeter, pompa, dan disertai dengan rangkain lampu beserta motor DC. Turbin Crossflow dialiri air dengan variasi debit 400 L/m, 450 L/m, 500 L/m, 550 L/m 600 L/m, 650 L/m, dan 700 L/m, dan bukaan Guide Vane 60°,70°,80°,90°,100° nilai daya listrik tertinggi diperoleh pada debit 700 L/m dengan bukaan guide vane 60° dengan nilai sebesar 66.6 W, nilai daya listrik terendah diperoleh pada debit 400 L/m dengan bukaan guide vane 100° dengan nilai sebesar 4 W. Nilai efisiensi paling tinggi didapat pada debit 550 L/m dan sudut bukaan 90°, dengan nilai efisiensi sebesar 23%, dan nilai efisiensi paling rendah didapat pada debit 400 L/m dan sudut bukaan 70°, dengan nilai efisiensi sebesar 14%.
