Abstract
Bio-baterai adalah jenis baterai yang terbuat dari bahan-bahan alami yang baik untuk lingkungan serta tidak mengandung bahan-bahan kimia berbahaya. Pengolahan TKKS menjadi karbon aktif adalah salah satu teknik pengolahan yang dapat dimanfaatkan, karena kandungan lignoselulosa yang cukup tinggi. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi karbonisasi dan aktivasi menggunakan NaOH dengan menggunakan konsentrasi sebesar 1 M dengan variasi lama perendaman yaitu 12, 18, 24, 30, dan 36 jam. Pada penelitian ini, karbon limbah tandang kosong kelapa sawit diaktivasi menggunakan variasi lama perendaman NaOH. Selanjutnya dianalisis dengan pengujian morfologi melalui uji Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM-EDX) dan Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). Selain itu, potensi sifat kelistrikan elektroda dari limbah tandang kosong kelapa sawit diukur dengan multimeter. Luaran tambahan pada penelitian ini berupa model prototype bio-baterai POWER. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi lama perendaman 18 jam memiliki luas permukaan karbon paling besar dibandingkan variasi lama perendaman yang lain sebesar 281.96 m2g-1 dengan menghasilkan nilai tegangan sebesar 0.785 V.
