Abstract

Pabrik Gliserol Karbonat dengan kapasitas 4.500 ton/tahun dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri. Proses produksi Gliserol karbonat berbahan baku gliserol dan urea ini terdiri dari tahapan pretreatment bahan baku, sintesa gliserol karbonat, dan pemurnian produk. Pretreatment dilakukan dengan mencampurkan gliserol pada fase cair dan urea pada fase padat bersamaan dengan hasil recycle kolom distilasi pada mixing point. Reaksi dari sintesa gliserol karbonat berlangsung di reaktor Mixed Flow Reactor pada suhu 140 °C dan tekanan 0,03 atm. Hasil reaksi tersebut menghasilkan gliserol karbonat, urea dan gliserol yang tidak bereaksi, dan amonia sebagai produk samping. Pada tahap pemurnian, dilakukan penghilangan kandungan produk samping dengan menggunakan separator tank. Reaktan berupa urea yang tidak bereaksi didekomposisi pada urea decomposer. Selanjutnya tahap pemurnian dilakukan dengan menggunakan kolom distilasi agar diperoleh produk gliserol karbonat dengan kemurnian diatas 90%. Pabrik ini direncanakan berdiri di Kawasan Industri Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) di Gresik, Jawa Timur. Pabrik Gliserol Karbonat ini membutuhkan energi listrik sebesar 33,25 kW dan kebutuhan air sebesar 6.641,19 kg/jam. Adapun modal tetap (FCI) dan modal kerja (WCI) yang dibutuhkan dalam pembangunan pabrik ini masing-masing sebesar $ 9.790.411,45 dan $ 1.727.719,67. Sehingga modal investasi (TCI) pabrik ini sebesar $ 11.518.131,12. Berdasarkan aspek ekonomi nilai ROI sebesar 77% dan BEP sebesar 60%, serta NPV sebesar $ 41.762.195.
