Abstract

Produksi asetaldehida dari etanol menggunakan metode dehidrogenasi dengan kapasitas 2.700 ton/tahun terdiri dari tahapan persiapan bahan baku, reaksi dehidrogenasi etanol dan pemisahan serta pemurnian. Persiapan bahan baku dilakukan dengan merubah fase etanol cair menjadi gas. Reaksi dehidrogenasi etanol terjadi pada reaktor fixed bed multitube dan dicampur dengan katalis Cu/SiO2. Tahap pemisahan dan pemurnian dilakukan untuk menghilangkan kandungan pengotor yang terikut dalam asetaldehida agar diperoleh produk dengan kemurnian tinggi. Pabrik ini direncanakan berdiri di Kabupaten Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah pada tahun 2033 dengan kapasitas 2.700 ton/tahun dan beroperasi selama 330 hari/tahun. Berdasarkan analisa ekonomi yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh investasi modal tetap pabrik asetaldehida sebesar $ 3.178.287,58 dengan nilai DCFR sebesar 25,39%, Net Profit Value sebesar $ 16.711.613, DPBP selama 2,653 tahun ROI after tax sebesar 97%, dan BEP sebesar 50%.
