Abstract

Pra rancangan pabrik methyl chloride dengan kapasitas 120.000 ton/tahun dilakukan dalam upaya memenuhi kebutuhan industri dalam negeri maupun luar negeri yang didukung oleh ketersediaan bahan baku yang memadai sehingga diharapkan mampu menambah lapangan pekerjaan serta devisa negara. Produksi methyl chloride secara umum terbagi menjadi 2 tahapan proses. Pertama yaitu tahap Persiapan Bahan Baku bahan baku dalam proses pembentukan methyl chloride adalah metanol dan asam klorida. Kedua merupakan tahap Sintesis Methyl chloride. Pada tahap sintesis methyl chloride, metanol dan asam klorida akan bereaksi untuk menghasilkan methyl chloride dalam reaktor jenis Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor Lokasi yang akan menjadi tempat didirikannya pabrik methyl chloride ini adalah daerah Kawasan Industri Bontang, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur dengan luas tanah sebesar 40.260 m² dengan mempekerjakan 180 orang karyawan yang terbagi menjadi 3 shift dengan 8 jam kerja per shift. Berdasarkan analisis ekonomi, pendirian pabrik methyl chloride Total Capital Investment (TCI) yang dibutuhkan sebesar $.7.251.261 dengan Total Production Cost (TPC) sebesar $.34.830.529. Pabrik methyl chloride yang dirancang memiliki Return on Investment (ROI) sebesar 85,23%, Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar $.61.530.631, Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFR) sebesar 36%, dan Discounted Payback Period (DPBP) sebesar 1,58 tahun. Berdasarkan parameter tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik Methyl Chloride yang dirancang layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
