Abstract

Akrolein dengan rumus C3H4O dikenal sebagai aldehida 2-propenal adalah senyawa aldehid tidak jenuh yang paling sederhana. Akrolein merupakan produk intermediet untuk memproduksi produk lain seperti asam akrilat, methionine, methionine hydroxy, guraldehyde dan asam amino sintesis. Saat ini pemenuhan akrolein di Indonesia masih dilakukan dengan cara mengimpor dari beberapa negara, karena di Indonesia belum memiliki pabrik akrolein. Pendirian pabrik pembuatan akrolein di Indonesia ini diharapkan dapat memperkecil ketergantungan Indonesia akan impor bahan-bahan kimia dari luar negeri, terutama akrolein yang juga dapat dijadikan komoditi ekspor. Produksi akrolein dari gliserol dengan kapasitas 5.000 ton/tahun terdiri dari tahapan pretreatment bahan baku, dehidrasi gliserol, dan pemurnian. Pretreatment gliserol dilakukan dengan merubah fase gliserol cair menjadi gas. Dehidrasi gliserol terjadi pada fixed bed reactor multitube dengan umpan masuk berupa gliserol dalam fase gas. Tahap pemurnian dilakukan untuk menghilangkan kandungan pengotor yang terikut dalam akrolein agar diperoleh produk dengan kemurnian tinggi. Pabrik ini direncanakan berdiri di Kota Dumai, Riau pada tahun 2025 dengan kapasitas 5.000 ton/tahun dan beroperasi selama 330 hari/tahun. Berdasarkan analisa ekonomi yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh investasi modal tetap pabrik akrolein sebesar $ 8.309.475 atau Rp 124.588.114.544 dengan nilai DCFR sebesar 41,62%, Net Profit Value sebesar $ 57.061.909 atau Rp 855.586.263.546, DPBP selama 2,1 tahun, ROI after tax sebesar 134,5%, BEP sebesar 50% dengan kapasitas 5.000 ton/tahun, dan SDP 15%.
