Abstract

Tsunami adalah kejadian bencana yang disebabkan oleh gempa bumi, longsoran material dan aktivitas vulkanik bawah laut. Peristiwa tsunami terbaru mengungkapkan pentingnya mempelajari sumber tsunami lainnya seperti longsor di atas permukaan laut dan longsor bawah laut. Longsor bawah laut terjadi karena adanya jatuhnya sejumlah volume batuan di dasar laut sehingga keseimbangan air laut terganggu akibat pengendapan material longsoran secara tiba-tiba di dasar laut yang diakibatkan gempa bumi. Pulau Maratua Kabupaten Berau merupakan daerah wisata pantai dengan batimetri bawah laut dengan kemiringan yang cukup curam berdasarkan data BATNAS (batimetri nasional) publikasi Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG). Sehingga suatu saat dapat berpotensi tsunami yang disebabkan oleh longsoran bawah laut. Olehnya perlu dilakukan pemodelan tsunami dengan model COMCOT (Cornell Multi-grid Coupled Tsunami). Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui daerah terdampak berdasarkan longsoran bawah laut di Pulau Maratua Kabupaten Berau dan peta potensi rendaman tsunami bagi masyarakat daerah terdampak di Pulau Maratua Kabupaten Berau. Serta data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yaitu data BATNAS (Batimetri Nasional) dan DEMNAS (Digital Elevation Model Nasional) dan Peta batas administrasi Kabupaten Berau. Adapun metode yang digunakan yaitu pemodelan numerik dengan model COMCOT. Pada penelitian ini hasilnya berupa pemodelan tsunami dan peta potensi rendaman tsunami.
