Abstract

Bio oil adalah bahan bakar cair bewarna gelap beraroma seperti asap dan di produksi dari biomassa, seperti kayu, kulit kayu, kelapa sawit, dan biomassa lainnya. Kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu biomassa yang dapat digunakan sebagai energi alternatif untuk dikonversi menjadi bio oil. Penggunaan bio oil sangat luas karena setelah bio oil diupgrade maka akan didapatkan produk berupa bahan bakar minyak bio misalnya bio kerosene, biodiesel dan lain-lain serta juga dapat digunakan sebagai pensubstitusi bahan bakar solar yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai bahan bakar kendaraan. Banyaknya kegunaan bio oil dan perkembangan industri di Indonesia yang memanfaatkan produk bio oil sebagai bahan baku, maka pendirian pabrik ini dibutuhkan. Pabrik bio oil dari tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) direncanakan produksi dengan kapasitas 59.000 ton/tahun dan beroperasi selama 330 hari dalam setahun. Pembuatan bio oil dilakukan dengan menggunakan proses pirolisis cepat. Produk utama dari pabrik ini yaitu bio oil. Pabrik bio oil ini direncanakan berlokasi di daerah Sangatta, Kutai Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Hasil analisa ekonomi pabrik bio oil dari TKKS ini yaitu didapat total capital investment sebesar Rp.921.648.649.108,- dan total production cost sebesar Rp. 589.096.203.104,-. Dengan pay out time selama 4,7 tahun, nilai break even point sebesar 53%, nilai return of investment sebesar 21%, nilai shut down point sebesar 12%, dan nilai discounted cash flow rate of return sebesar 20%. Dari hasil analisa aspek ekonomi dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik bio oil ini layak untuk di kaji lebih lanjut.
