Abstract

Low dimensional carbon, dengan properti-propertinya yang unik, merupakan material yang berpotensi mewujudkan teknologi masa depan. Low dimensional carbon dapat disintesis menggunakan prekursor dari limbah biomassa yang mengandung karbon. Salah satu limbah biomassa yang berpotensi adalah jelaga minyak jelantah. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan rancang bangun alat treatment jelaga minyak jelantah menggunakan plasma dingin. Reaktor plasma dingin yang digunakan berupa gliding arc plasma (GAP) dan dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). Penelitian ini berfokus pada performa alat berdasarkan parameter listrik dan pengaruhnya terhadap struktur, morfologi, dam gugus fungsi karbon pada jelaga minyak jelantah. Variasi yang digunakan dalam parameter listrik yaitu daya input dan laju aliran udara. Data yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa semakin besar daya input yang digunakan maka konsumsi daya akan meningkat seiring berjalannya waktu. Laju aliran udara berpengaruh pada kestabilan daya melalui pengurangan gas terionisasi dalam reaktor. Hasil karakterisasi menunjukan adanya struktur serupa reduced graphene oxide (rGO) dan pengurangan gugus fungsi yang mengandung oksigen pada sampel jelaga minyak jelantah.
