Abstract
Bridges are important piece of infrastructure that must be maintained in a safe and usable condition. One way to maintain the condition of the bridge is to carry out regular monitoring. An IoT (Internet of Things) based bridge monitoring system is one solution that can be implemented to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of bridge monitoring of bridge monitoring while reducing the risk of structural failure, and enabling rapid response to changing conditions. In this research, a Structural health monitoring system for IoT-based bridges using LoRa communication is designed. This system uses an IMU sensor to measure vibrations and tilt angles of the bridge and a Strain Gauge to see structural strains. Vibration data obtained from the slave node is then transmitted to the Master Node using the LoRa communication protocol and then forwarded by sending vibration, tilt angle and strain data to the IoT server. This research has independent variables, namely, LoRa transmission distance and bridge traffic with dependent variables in the form of vibration, tilt angle, RSSI and strain. In testing the sensor for tilt angle, the IMU sensor had an accuracy level in pitch and roll of 92.71% and 89,8% and in vibration testing the IMU sensor had an accuracy level of 94.24%. In testing the strain gauge sensor, it was found that the strain had a liner value with a deflection value. In the LoRa test, it was found that the spreading factor 7 and signal bandwidth settings had quite good RSSI values compared to other settings.
