Abstract

Pengolahan daur ulang limbah plastik terdiri dari berbagai macam cara salah satunya yaitu secara pirolisis. Pirolisis merupakan teknologi recycle plastik yang lebih efektif dalam mendaur ulang limbah dengan merubah limbah plastik menjadi bahan bakar minyak (BBM). Tujuan dari penelitian adalah menganalisis minyak hasil pengolahan pirolisis yang dihasilkan dari campuran plastik jenis Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) berupa botol air minuman dan Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) berupa kantong plastik dengan variasi 100% PET, 30% LDPE dan 70% PET, 50% LDPE dan 50% PET, 70% LDPE dan 30% PET dan 100% LDPE. Hasil pengujian merupakan karakteristik minyak berupa cetane index yang diuji dengan alat ZX101XL Cetane Analyzer dengan metode ASTM D613 dan viskositas kinematik yang diuji dengan alat Viskometer Ostwald dengan metode ASTM D445 yang dilakukan di laboratorium Politeknik Negeri Samarinda. Hasil pengujian didapatkan volume terbanyak yang dihasilkan dari 0,5 kg plastik yaitu pada variasi campuran plastik 70% LDPE dan 30% PET dengan volume 196,67 ml, cetane index 38,4 dan viskositas 1,4842 mm 2 /s serta terendah pada variasi 30% PET dan 70% LDPE dengan volume 131,67 ml, cetane index 34,1 dan viskositas 1,4988 mm 2 /s. Hasil pengujian pada variasi minyak campuran LDPE dan PET memenuhi karakteristik nilai cetane index pada bahan bakar Diesel dengan standar ASTM D613 namun pada karakteristik viskositas seluruh variasi tidak memenuhi standar viskositas bahan bakar Diesel.
