Abstract

Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) merupakan metode penyambungan lembaran logam dengan memanfaatkan panas yang dihasilkan oleh hambatan arus listrik pada benda kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi ketebalan pelat terhadap beban maksimum tarik-geser dan karakteristik metalografi pada material baja galvanis. Ketebalan pelat yang divariasikan meliputi 0,6 mm, 0,8 mm, 1 mm, dan 1,2 mm dengan waktu pengelasan selama 4 detik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketebalan pelat berpengaruh terhadap nilai beban maksimum dan hasil metalografi. Nilai beban maksimum terkecil diperoleh pada ketebalan 0,6 mm dengan nilai 138,46 N dan nilai beban maksimum tertinggi diperoleh pada ketebalan 1,2 mm dengan nilai 1335,76 N, dimana hasil tersebut berbanding lurus dengan heat input. Sementara itu, panjang weld nugget dengan nilai terbesar didapatkan pada ketebalan 1 mm dengan panjang weld nugget 1,51 mm, sedangkan panjang weld nugget nilai terkecil didapatkan pada ketebalan 0,6 mm dengan panjang 0,56 mm. Variasi ketebalan pelat memengaruhi nilai beban maksimum uji tarik-geser dan hasil metalografi secara signifikan.
