Abstract

Penelitian sebelumnya membuat alat giling pakan ternak menggunakan limbah roti untuk menghasilkan pelet, tetapi belum diketahui kuantitas maksimum. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan limbah roti dari UMKM yang ada di Balikpapan dan ingin mengetahui kuantitas maksimum dari kuantitas produksi (kg) dan waktu proses (menit). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kuantitas alat giling diukur dari kuantitas produksi (kg) dan waktu proses (menit), serta menganalisis kuantitas alat giling diukur dari konsumsi energi listrik (kWh). Metode yang digunakan untuk menghitung konsumsi energi listrik menggunakan pendekataan nonlinear programming yaitu metode Lagrange. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kuantitas maksimum yang dapat diproses oleh alat giling sebesar 1 kg dengan waktu proses 56 menit. Waktu tersebut dipengaruhi dari jenis limbah roti yang digunakan, yaitu roti tawar lebih cepat diproses dibandingkan roti selai, karena roti selai menghambat proses penggilingan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kuantitas alat giling diukur dari konsumsi listrik menunjukkan bahwa pengoperasian mesin paling boros saat 60% atau setara dengan kuantitas produksi 0,6 kg, dengan titik optimal pada saat kuantitas diantara 50%-60%, sehingga alat giling ini direkomendasikan untuk pengoperasian mesin dibawah 60%.
