Abstract

Industri pertambangan batubara skala nasional saat ini menghadapi tantangan transformasi menuju hilirisasi. Sejalan dengan regulasi tersebut, proyek gasifikasi batubara menjadi salah satu program utama hilirisasi. batubara kalori rendah mendominasi produksi batubara Indonesia mencapai 74,3% dari total produksi. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan harga jual rendah, teknologi gasifikasi batubara muncul sebagai solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi. Berdasarkan data dari Badan Pusat Statistik, rata-rata pertumbuhan impor metanol di Indonesia mencapai 9,46% dalam rentang 7 tahun terakhir. Tingginya permintaan metanol dikarenakan hingga saat ini hanya ada 1 industri di Indonesia yang memproduksi metanol, yaitu PT Kaltim Methanol Indonesia (KMI) yang terletak di Kota Bontang dengan bahan baku gas alam. Melalui proses gasifikasi, batubara dikonversi menjadi syngas, yang kemudian dapat diolah lebih lanjut menjadi produk bernilai tinggi seperti metanol. Teknologi Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (SOEC) dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi kekurangan H2 dalam proses gasifikasi. Pabrik metanol dengan luas tanas 133.833,92 m2 membutuhkan listrik sebesar 151,58 MW/jam, kebutuhan air sanitasi 84,745 m3/jam, air proses 26.425,775 kg/jam, air pendingin 353.293,057 kg/jam, dan air umpan boiler 389.635,658 kg/jam. Adapun modal tetap (FCI) dan modal kerja (WCI) yang dibutuhkan dalam pembangunan pabrik ini adalah sebesar Rp7.172.371.742.442,73 dan Rp1.265.712.660.431,07 dengan jumlah modal investasi (TCI) dari pabrik ini sebesar Rp8.438.084.402.873,80. Aspek ekonomi terukur dari pabrik ini adalah nilai DCFR sebesar 31,52%, nilai ROI sebesar 88%, dan BEP sebesar 55%. Berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang telah disebutkan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik metanol ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
