Abstract

Batubara lignit, yang menyumbang sekitar 59% cadangan batubara Indonesia, karena kualitasnya yang rendah dan potensi pembakaran spontan. Namun batubara lignit dengan nilai kalori yang rendah dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi bahan untuk mengekstrak asam humat. Pada penelitian ini membahas tentang optimasi ekstraksi asam humat dari batubara lignit dengan menggunakan alkalisasi NaOH 0,5 M dan pengaruh variasi waktu pengendapan pada metode presipitasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana tingkat keberhasilan ekstraksi gugus fungsional utama assam humat, serta mengetahui bagaimana luas permukaan asam humat yang berhasil di ekstrak dari batubara lignit. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hasil ekstraksi pada variasi waktu pengendapan 12 jam yang paling optimal, karena berhasil mengestrak gugus fungsional asam humat seperti –COOH dan –OH tanpa banyak pengotor di dalamnya, hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari bentuk grafik FTIR yang diperoleh, dan jumlah hasil rendemen pada variasi 12 jam menunjukan hasil yang lebih tinggi yaitu 15,56%. Serta luas permukaan 3.525536 m2/g dan struktur pori dari asam humat yaitu sebesar 45.9623 nm
