Abstract

Pembangunan infrastruktur dasar di kawasan Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) Kalimantan Timur menghadapi tantangan geoteknik akibat kondisi tanah clayshale yang memiliki daya dukung rendah dan sifat fisik yang tidak stabil, terutama pada proyek Jalan Tol IKN Seksi 3A-2 Segmen Karang Joang – KTT Kariangau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas kapur tohor (CaO) sebagai bahan stabilisasi kimiawi dalam meningkatkan sifat fisik dan mekanik tanah clayshale. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental dengan variasi penambahan kapur sebesar 2%, 3%, dan 5% terhadap berat kering tanah. Pengujian laboratorium meliputi uji pemadatan Standard Proctor, uji kuat geser langsung (Direct Shear Test), dan uji daya dukung (California Bearing Ratio/CBR) dalam kondisi rendaman (soaked). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan kapur tohor meningkatkan nilai kepadatan kering maksimum dan CBR soaked dari 4,45% menjadi 32,43% pada kadar 5%. Nilai kohesi juga meningkat dari 0,18552 kg/cm² menjadi 1,48128 kg/cm², menunjukkan penguatan ikatan antar partikel akibat reaksi kimia. Meskipun sudut geser menurun dari 1,1176° menjadi 0,2018°, kekuatan geser total tetap meningkat karena kontribusi kohesi yang lebih dominan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penambahan kapur tohor dalam kadar rendah (2-5%) cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas tanah clayshale sebagai lapisan subgrade dan dapat menjadi alternatif stabilisasi tanah yang hemat material serta berkelanjutan dalam pembangunan infrastruktur IKN.
