Abstract

Pengunaan material pada pembuatan kapal semakin terjadi peningkatan signifikan, contohnya seperti material fiberglass, material fiberglass banyak dipilih karena banyak memiliki keunggulan seperti kekuatan material dan kekuatan dalam menahan korosi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah lapisan dari fiberglass-mat dan fiberglass-woven dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari jumlah lapisan terhadap kekuatan tarik dan tekuk dari material komposit. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni menggunakan variasi arah serat 0°, 30° dan 60° dengan masing-masing arah serat terdapat 6 lapisan dengan urutan sebagai berikut fiberglass mat-woven-mat- woven-mat-woven. Pada penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil dengan nilai yang didapat dari hasil uji tarik dengan variasi arah serat 0°, 30° dan 60° yang tersusun dari fiberglass mat-woven-mat-woven-mat-woven menghasilkan nilai pada masing-masing spesimennya, diantaranya paling tinggi pada 0° yaitu 62.52 Mpa dengan nilai Rata-rata dari 3 buah spesimen yaitu 58.94 Mpa, lalu pada 30° memiliki nilai yang paling tinggi di 39.84, dengan nilai Rata-rata 36.57, dan yang terakhir pada 60° terdapat nilai tertinggi yaitu 59.45 Mpa dengan mendapat nilai Rata-rata 45.36 dan jumlah dari variasi arah lapisan serat 0°, 30° dan 60° pada uji tarik tidak satupun memenuhi standar BKI, dan pada uji tekuk hanya terdapat 0° yang memenuhi standar.
