Abstract

Ketel Uap merupakan salah satu komponen utama dalam sistem pembangkit daya. Proses pembakaran pada Ketel Uap berlangsung secara kontinyu di dalam ruang bakar dengan mengalirkan bahan bakar dan udara dengan bantuan Blower. Bahan bakar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah biomassa dari cangkang kelapa sawit. cangkang kelapa sawit merupakan bahan bakar padat. Cangkang kelapa sawit sendiri mudah dijumpai dilingkungan masyarakat serta harga yang terjangkau murah. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu memanfaatkan cangkang sawit sebagai bahan bakar pada Ketel Uap dan menghitung efisiensi ketel uap. Pengujian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan nilai efisiensi dari Ketel Uap yang digunakan dan dilakukan dengan variasi level volume air dari 18 liter, 19 liter dan 20 liter yang dilakukan selama 1 jam dan dikontrol dengan tekanan 1 Bar menggunakan bahan bakar biomassa cangkang kelapa sawit. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode langsung, pemakaian bahan bakar cangkang kelapa sawit dilakukan untuk mengetahui banyak pemakaian bahan bakar Ketel Uap selama 1 jam dengan tekanan 1 bar.
