Abstract

Penggunaan plastik sebagai bahan pengemas semakin meningkat, menyebabkan penumpukan sampah..Menurut Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan Sampah Nasional (SIPSN) pada tahun 2022, total timbulan sampah di Indonesia mencapai 36.218.012,28 ton pertahun. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pembuatan bioplastik dari TKKS dan Kulit pisang raja menggunakan campuran bahan aditif pektin kulit jeruk. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis bioplastik tanpa penambahan pektin dan dengan penambahan pektin dengan variasi rasio tetap selulosa TKKS dan pati kulit pisang raja yaitu 1:1. Sifat mekanik dan karakteristik sampel diuji dengan Tensile Test, Fouirer Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), uji daya serap, dan uji biodegradasi. Dari data hasil FTIR didapatkan bahwa masih terdapat lignin pad hasil alkalisasi selulosa. Kekuatan tarik maksimum yang didapatkan sebesar 1,147 MPa pada variasi 4% pektin, sedangkan elongasi tertinggi terdapat pada variasi 6% pektin sebesar 16,328%. Daya serap terendah didapatkan pada variasi pektin 6% sebesar 14,13 %. Sedangkan biodegradasi tercepat didapatkan pada variasi pektin 6% sebesar 92,15% dalam waktu 14 hari. Dari hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa penambhan pektin jeruk dapat menurunkan nilai kekuatan tarik pada variasi 6%, namun meningkatkan elongasi pada variasi 6%. Sedangkan ketahanan air terendah didapatkan pada sampel pektin 6%. Dan biodegradasi tercepat didpatkan pada variasi pektin 6%. Kata kunci : Selulosa, TKKS, Pati, Pektin, Bioplastik
