Abstract
Markoni Beach is located in Balikpapan City which is a tourist destination. There is a Jetty that juts into the ocean to attract tourists on this beach. One of the accesses to the Jetty is through the revetment building. The condition of the revetment began to experience damage and elevation that was no longer effective in dealing with wave runoff. This causes the revetment structure to not function optimally so that it can cause danger to visitors and is unable to withstand erosion and abrasion. This research was conducted to evaluate the damage that occurred to the structure and provide suggestions for action in the form of alternative designs as a countermeasure. The assessment method uses criteria from the PUPR ministry performance assessment results show that the existing revetment structure is in a condition of“needs improvement” with an index of 2.6 with suggestions for review actions, wave forecasting obtained a plan wave height of 0.67 meters, breaking wave (Hb) of 0.71 meters. Tidal data was processed using the admiralty method to determine the lowest and highest tide conditions used as a reference in implementing design alternatives, the HHWL value is 2.93 meters. Variables in the study are in the form of alternative design variations with a height of alternative 1 is 4.44 meters and alternative 2 is 5.44 meters. Resilience structure against overtunning / overturning hazards from both alternatives have met the stability criteria with a safety factor> 2, respectively 3.39 and 4.39. Alternative 2 is recommended because it provides higher stability and protection against overtopping conditions with the prioritizing the long-term durability of the structure It is expected that the results of this study can be used as a reference and guide for local government agencies to take corrective action on the structure
