Abstract
Kapal catamaran mempunyai hambatan yang lebih kecil daripada kapal monohull karena mempunyai luas permukaan basah yang kecil. Hambatan tersebut bisa di kurangi lagi dengan penambahan interceptor. Namun analisa penambahan interceptor pada kapal catamaran belum tersedia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek penambahan interceptor terhadap hambatan pada kapal. Pada penelitian ini analisa di lakukan menggunakan Metode Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Simulasi dilakukan pada kecepatan 20, 30, 40, dan 50 knot dengan bilangan Froude (Fn) antara 0,77 sampai 1,93. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Interceptor secara konsisten mampu menurunkan nilai hambatan kapal dibandingkan dengan kondisi lambung tanpa Interceptor. Penurunan resistansi sebesar 0,25 kN (1,43%) terjadi pada kecepatan 20 kN dan meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan kecepatan, dengan penurunan tertinggi sebesar 5,60 kN (5,38%) pada kecepatan 50 kN. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Interceptor efektif dalam menurunkan hambatan hidrodinamika kapal, terutama pada kecepatan tinggi, sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan efisiensi operasional kapal secara keseluruhan. Kata kunci : Catamaran, Hambatan kapal, Interceptor, CFD Catamaran ships have less resistance than monohull ships because they have a small wetted surface area. This resistance can be further reduced by adding interceptors. However, analysis of adding interceptors to catamaran ships is not yet available. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding interceptors on ship resistance. In this study, the analysis was carried out using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. Simulations were carried out at speeds of 20, 30, 40, and 50 knots with Froude numbers (Fn) between 0.77 and 1.93. The simulation results showed that the use of Interceptors was consistently able to reduce ship resistance values compared to hull conditions without Interceptors. A decrease in resistance of 0.25 kN (1.43%) occurred at a speed of 20 kN and increased with increasing speed, with the highest decrease of 5.60 kN (5.38%) at a speed of 50 kN. These findings indicate that Interceptors are effective in reducing ship hydrodynamic resistance, especially at high speeds, thus potentially increasing the overall operational efficiency of the ship.
