Abstract
Nanopartikel (NPs) adalah material berukuran kurang dari 100 nanometer yang memiliki sifat unik, termasuk stabilitas dimensi, non-toksisitas, dan afinitas terhadap oksida, membuatnya ideal untuk pemulihan lingkungan. Salah satu NPs, yaitu nanomagnetit (Fe₃O₄), memiliki sifat magnetik tinggi, biokompatibilitas, dan toksisitas rendah, sehingga efektif untuk pengolahan limbah cair seperti degradasi methylene blue (MB), pewarna sintetis berbahaya dari limbah tekstil. Metode konvensional sintesis Fe₃O₄ sering tidak efisien dan menghasilkan polutan. Oleh karena itu, metode green synthesis menggunakan ekstrak tumbuhan menjadi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan. Ekstrak daun lai, tumbuhan endemik Kalimantan, mengandung senyawa fenol yang bertindak sebagai agen reduksi dan stabilisator dalam sintesis Fe₃O₄. Untuk meningkatkan efisiensi degradasi MB, Fe₃O₄ dapat didukung dengan tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) melalui metode impregnasi, memanfaatkan kandungan selulosa TKKS sebagai penyangga. Proses ini memperluas area permukaan dan distribusi katalis, meningkatkan aktivitas katalitik. Penelitian ini menunjukkan potensi kombinasi Fe₃O₄ berbasis green synthesis dan material penyangga TKKS sebagai solusi efektif dan berkelanjutan untuk pengelolaan limbah industri.
