Abstract

Kebakaran merupakan bencana yang berpotensi menimbulkan kerugian besar jika tidak ditangani. Kota Balikpapan, dengan tingkat kepadatan penduduk yang tinggi, memiliki tantangan yang besar terhadap bencana kebakaran, terutama pada kawasan permukiman padat seperti Kelurahan Baru Ulu. Pada Tahun 2024, meskipun hanya terjadi 2 kejadian kebakaran pada Kelurahan Baru Ulu namun kerugian yang dihasilkan tidak dapat diabaikan. Tantangaan utama pada pencegahan kebakaran di Kelurahan Baru Ulu adalah persepsi dan kesadaran masyarakat yang masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh persepsi masyarakat terhadap bencana kebakaran kawasan permukiman di kelurahan baru ulu. Dalam mengidentifikasi persepsi masyarakat didapatkan 2 kategori persepsi masyarakat yaitu kategori cukup dan kategori buruk. Pengaruh persepsi masyarakat belum berada pada kategori baik disebabakan kurangnya program edukasi dan pengetahuan masyarakat sehingga didapatkan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan kesadaraan masyarakat yaitu dengan mengedukasi masyarakat dengan dukungan penuh dari pemerintah.
