Abstract

Pesatnya pembangunan infrastruktur di Indonesia meningkatkan permintaan terhadap kayu sebagai material konstruksi utama. Namun, kayu alami memiliki keterbatasan dalam daya tahan terhadap kelembapan, rayap, dan pelapukan, terutama di iklim tropis. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, larutan Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) digunakan dalam pengawetan kayu. Sodium dikromat (Na₂Cr₂O₇), sebagai salah satu bahan utama CCA, berperan penting dalam meningkatkan ketahanan kayu terhadap faktor biologis dan sinar UV melalui sifat oksidasinya yang efisien. Saat ini, kebutuhan sodium dikromat di Indonesia masih sepenuhnya dipenuhi melalui impor, dengan rata-rata pertumbuhan 6,45% per tahun. Sodium dikromat dapat diproduksi dari bijih kromit melalui proses alkali roasting dan asidifikasi dengan asam sulfat. Tahap pertama melibatkan reaksi bijih kromit dengan natrium karbonat pada suhu tinggi (900–1100°C), menghasilkan sodium kromat. Larutan sodium kromat selanjutnya diolah melalui asidifikasi menggunakan asam sulfat untuk membentuk sodium dikromat. Produk sampingan seperti natrium sulfat juga dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung keberlanjutan proses. Lokasi pabrik direncanakan di Kawasan Industri Morowali, Sulawesi Tengah, yang memiliki cadangan bijih kromit melimpah hingga 8 juta ton. Adapun modal tetap (FCI) dan modal kerja (WCI) yang dibutuhkan dalam pembangunan pabrik ini adalah sebesar $32.905.657,20 dan $5.806.880,68. Aspek ekonomi terukur dari pabrik ini adalah nilai DCFR sebesar 41,18% nilai ROI sebesar 85,41% dan BEP sebesar 61,429%. Berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang telah disebutkan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik sodium dikromat dihidrat ini layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut.
