Abstract

Asam nitrat (HNO3) merupakan bahan kimia penting dalam industri, khususnya sebagai bahan baku pupuk amonium nitrat. Kebutuhan nasional Indonesia akan asam nitrat mencapai 145.500 ton/tahun, sedangkan kapasitas produksi dalam negeri hanya 54.960 ton/tahun, sehingga menimbulkan ketergantungan terhadap impor. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, direncanakan pembangunan pabrik asam nitrat dengan proses Ostwald yang efisien dan menggunakan bahan baku amonia serta udara yang tersedia melimpah. Pabrik dirancang beroperasi secara kontinu selama 330 hari per tahun dengan kapasitas 46.000 ton/tahun dan masa konstruksi dua tahun. Hasil analisis menunjukkan proyek ini layak secara teknis dan ekonomis dengan Total Capital Investment (TCI) Rp 6,98 miliar dan Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 39% kapasitas. Nilai Return on Investment (ROI) mencapai 80%, dengan Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar Rp 67,72 miliar dan Discounted Payback Period (DBPB) selama 1 tahun 6 bulan. Dengan demikian, pendirian pabrik ini dinyatakan layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut guna mendukung kemandirian industri nasional.
