Abstract

Gas Karbon Dioksida (CO2) adalah gas rumah kaca yang melimpah di atmosfer dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan suhu global serta perubahan iklim. Sumber utama emisi CO2 berasal dari industri seperti pengolahan minyak, gas bumi, dan petrokimia. CO2 yang berlimpah dapat dikonversi menjadi produk bernilai tinggi seperti methanol, dimethyl carbonate (DMC), dan methane. Dengan tingginya permintaan pasar terhadap zat aditif, pabrik ini akan fokus pada produksi DMC menggunakan gas buang CO2 dari proses penghilangan CO2 di PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur dan methanol dari PT Kaltim Methanol Indonesia di Bontang, Kalimantan Timur. Proses sintesis DMC yang dipilih adalah Direct Synthesis, yang mendukung pengembangan green chemistry dengan target yield tinggi hingga >99,5% menggunakan CeO2 sebagai katalis dan 2-Cyanopyridine sebagai agen dehidrasi. Proses ini optimal pada suhu 130℃ dan tekanan 30 bar dengan konversi >99,9%. Pabrik direncanakan berdiri di Kawasan KIE Kota Bontang pada tahun 2034 dengan luas lahan sebesar 200000 m2. Pabrik DMC ini ditargetkan memiliki kapasitas 56.000 ton/tahun, diharapkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan domestik dan mengurangi ketergantungan impor, menjadikannya pabrik DMC pertama di Indonesia. Adapun kajian mengenai aspek ekonomi dari pabrik ini dengan total modal investasi (TCI) yakni sebesar Rp847.488.740.312,36 didapatkan juga hasil analisis profitabilitas ROI sebesar 71,83%, BEP 67,38%, DCFR 32,21 %, SDP 11%, DPBP 1 Tahun 11 Bulan, dan NPV Rp5.752.993.159.413.
