Abstract
Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) adalah senyawa organik dengan rumus molekul C₂H₃Cl. Terbatasnya ketersediaan VCM di dalam negeri menyebabkan Indonesia masih harus mengimpor, dengan total impor mencapai 131.714 ton pada tahun 2023. Pendirian pabrik VCM ini bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nasional dan mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap impor. Selain itu, kehadiran pabrik ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan lapangan kerja baru dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pertumbuhan sektor industri kimia. Proses produksi VCM dapat melalui proses hidroklorinasi asetilen dengan bahan baku berupa asetilena (C2H2) dan hidrogen klorida (HCl) dengan bantuan katalis Copper (II) Chloride (CuCl2). Pada proses ini, C2H2 dan HCl dalam fase gas masuk kedalam reaktor fixed-bed yang berisi katalis CuCl2 dengan kondisi operasi 200°C dan tekanan 1 atm, dimana reaksi ini berjalan secara eksotermis. Pabrik ini beroperasi selama 24 jam dalam 330 hari. Hasil analisa ekonomi pada pabrik ini didapatkan perhitungan dengan modal tetap sebesar $54.729.875,37 modal kerja sebesar $8.209.481,31 dan biaya produksi sebesar $63.437.750.32 Selain itu, dari analisis profitabilitas menunjukan nilai ROI sebesar 75,09%, SDP 4%, BEP 64%, NPV sebesar $412.458.179,11, DCFR 49,108%, dan DPBP 2,08 tahun.
