Abstract

Pra-rancangan pabrik natrium bikarbonat dari bahan baku natrium karbonat dan karbon dioksida dengan proses karbonasi dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan domestik, khususnya di sektor pangan. Pabrik ini dirancang dengan kapasitas produksi sebesar 23.000 ton/tahun. Reaksi utama berlangsung dalam bubble reactor yang memungkinkan efisiensi reaksi tiga fasa. Proses meliputi pelarutan natrium karbonat, injeksi CO₂, pembentukan slurry natrium bikarbonat, pemisahan kristal, pengeringan, dan penyimpanan. Lokasi pabrik direncanakan di Kawasan Industri KIIC, Karawang, Jawa Barat. Evaluasi ekonomi menunjukkan bahwa pabrik ini layak secara finansial. Nilai Total Capital Investment (TCI) sebesar $2.637.671,06, dengan Return on Investment (ROI) mencapai 59,94%, dan Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar $59.103.887, yang menunjukkan nilai positif. Break Even Point (BEP) tercapai pada 34%, dan Shut Down Point (SDP) sebesar 6% dari kapasitas produksi. Analisis Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFR) menunjukkan angka sebesar 55,75%, jauh melampaui Minimum Attractive Rate of Return (MARR) sebesar 24%. Sementara itu, Discounted Payback Period (DPBP) tercapai dalam waktu 1,56 tahun, masih di bawah umur proyek selama 16 tahun. Berdasarkan analisis teknis dan ekonomi, pabrik natrium bikarbonat ini layak dikembangkan dan dapat mendukung kemandirian industri nasional.
