Abstract

Pra-rancangan pabrik kimia Tributil Sitrat (TBS) berbahan baku Asam Sitrat dan Butanol dengan kapasitas 18.000 ton/tahun direncanakan akan dibangun di Kawasan Industri Maspion Unit C, Manyar, Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur. Bahan baku Asam Sitrat diperoleh dari Weifang Ensign Industry Co., Ltd, Tiongkok dengan kebutuhan sebesar 1.103,32 kg/jam, sedangkan bahan baku Butanol dipasok oleh PT. Petro Oxo Nusantara dengan kebutuhan sebesar 3.313,69 kg/jam. Pabrik ini dirancang untuk beroperasi secara kontinyu selama 24 jam per hari dan 330 hari per tahun. Proses produksi menggunakan metode esterifikasi homogen dengan bantuan katalis asam sulfat pada suhu 140°C dan tekanan 3 atm dalam Reaktor Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR). Reaksi berlangsung secara eksotermis dengan konversi optimum sebesar 86%. Campuran hasil reaksi dialirkan ke unit Neutralizer untuk menetralkan dengan menggunakan bahan baku Natrium Hidroksida (NaOH) serta Dekanter dan Evaporator untuk memisahkan produk TBS dari reaktan yang tersisa serta produk samping. Unit utilitas pada pabrik ini menyediakan kebutuhan air proses, air pendingin, dan air umpan boiler sebesar 15.499,712 kg/jam, kebutuhan steam sebesar 795,66 kg/jam, serta kebutuhan listrik sebesar 63,035 kWh. Investasi total pendirian pabrik diperkirakan sebesar $22.419.186,12. Evaluasi kelayakan ekonomi menunjukkan nilai Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 54% dan Discounted Cash Flow Rate of Return (DCFR) sebesar 33,49%. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi teknis dan ekonomis, pabrik TBS dengan bahan baku Asam Sitrat dan Butanol kapasitas 18.000 ton/tahun layak untuk dikaji dan direalisasikan lebih lanjut.
