Abstract

Gantry crane adalah jenis pesawat pengangkat yang dirancang untuk mengangkat beban pada sumbu vertikal dan memindahkannya pada sumbu horizontal. Salah satu faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam perancangan gantry crane adalah standar keselamatan pesawat yang terkait erat kekuatan struktural pesawat tersebut. Adapun pemenuhan standar keselamatan pada perancangan gantry crane memerlukan analisis kekuatan struktur ketika dikenai beban eksternal yang dapat dilakukan menggunakan metode Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kekuatan tiga modifikasi model rangka gantry crane tipe single girder melalui uji simulasi menggunakan software yang dikonfirmasi dengan perhitungan teoritis dan uji validasi aktual prototipe gantry crane. Hasil pengukuran nilai deformasi, strain, dan stress menunjukkan bahwa gantry crane model 3 (single girder dengan pipe-profiled double leg) mendapatkan nilai terbesar untuk ketiga variabel, sedangkan model 2 (single girder H-beam-profiled single leg dengan penopang sudut girder). Adapun nilai safety factor tertinggi dicapai oleh gantry crane model 2, sedangkan nilai terendah ditemui pada model 1 (single girder H-beam-profiled single leg) yang mengindikasikan bahwa stress pada komponen lain gantry crane selain girder juga turut memengaruhi nilai safety factor. Seluruh model gantry crane yang diuji tidak melampaui ambang batas aman stress yaitu 530 MPa. Uji validasi aktual pada prototipe gantry crane model 2 skala 1:5,7 dan 1:1 memberikan deviasi nilai deformasi dari hasil simulasi masing-masing sebesar 3,21% dan 12,38%. Deviasi dari nilai simulasi ini menunjukkan keberadaan galat, khususnya dalam proses pembuatan prototipe.
