Abstract

Perubahan fungsi warehouse non mining PT ALTRAK 1978 Balikpapan yang sebelumnya digunakan bersama dengan departemen mining menjadi sepenuhnya untuk aktivitas non mining tidak diikuti dengan penyesuaian tata letak area kerja. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan alur perpindahan barang menjadi kurang efisien sehingga jarak perpindahan material dan Ongkos Material Handling (OMH) meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang tata letak usulan warehouse yang lebih efisien menggunakan metode CORELAP dan CRAFT. Metode CORELAP digunakan untuk menyusun tata letak berdasarkan hubungan kedekatan antar area, sedangkan metode CRAFT digunakan untuk mengoptimalkan tata letak berdasarkan frekuensi perpindahan material, jarak perpindahan, dan biaya material handling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layout existing memiliki total jarak perpindahan material sebesar 1.016,74 meter per bulan dengan total OMH sebesar Rp31.920 per bulan. Layout usulan menggunakan metode CORELAP menghasilkan total jarak perpindahan sebesar 1.072,2 meter per bulan dengan OMH sebesar Rp31.006 per bulan, sedangkan layout usulan menggunakan metode CRAFT menghasilkan total jarak perpindahan sebesar 1.181,72 meter per bulan dengan OMH sebesar Rp29.444 per bulan. Jika dibandingkan dengan kondisi existing, metode CRAFT mampu menurunkan OMH sebesar Rp2.476 per bulan atau 7,76%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, layout usulan menggunakan metode CRAFT dapat dinilai sebagai alternatif yang paling efisien dari sisi biaya dibandingkan dengan layout existing maupun layout usulan yang dihasilkan oleh metode CORELAP.
