Abstract

CFB boiler power generation technology is highly efficient and environmentally friendly, yet it requires precise air ratio adjustments to optimize combustion and prevent erosion-related damage to boiler components. This study analyzes the impact of primary and secondary air ratio variations, specifically 40/60, 50/50, and 60/40 on fluidization characteristics and erosion potential in a 110 MW CFB boiler through three-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) numerical simulations. By employing an Eulerian multiphase approach and the standard k-ε turbulence model on the furnace and cyclone geometry, the research evaluates superficial air velocity distribution, static pressure profiles, and particle volume fractions to identify critical zones. The results demonstrate that an increase in the primary air percentage leads to a higher dense bed, decreased pressure, and increased superficial air velocity, while simultaneously escalating erosion risk in the inlet duct and cyclone walls due to elevated particle concentrations and speeds. Consequently, these findings offer a vital technical foundation for refining operational strategies and boiler designs to mitigate component wear
