Abstract

Sentra Industri Kecil Somber (SIKS) Kota Balikpapan merupakan kawasan industri yang memproduksi tahu, tempe, dan keripik tempe. Aktivitas produksi masih menggunakan kayu bakar sebagai sumber energi serta menghasilkan limbah cair, minyak jelantah, dan emisi pembakaran yang berpotensi menimbulkan dampak lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dampak lingkungan serta merumuskan rekomendasi untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan pada proses produksi di SIKS menggunakan metode Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Penilaian dilakukan dengan pendekatan gate-to-gate menggunakan perangkat lunak SimaPro 9.5 dan metode ReCiPe 2016 Midpoint (H) berdasarkan data inventori penggunaan bahan baku, energi, air, dan limbah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi tahu menghasilkan nilai Human Carcinogenic Toxicity, Freshwater Ecotoxicity, dan Marine Eutrophication masing-masing sebesar 258.000, 11.800, dan 4.860; produksi tempe sebesar 44.500, 16.400, dan 5.520; IKM tahu-tempe menghasilkan nilai 178.000, 5.850, dan 2.710 pada unit tahu serta 57.500, 19.500, dan 6.550 pada unit tempe; sedangkan produksi keripik tempe menghasilkan nilai 135, 128, dan 40,5. Rekomendasi terbaik berupa kombinasi substitusi kayu bakar menjadi LPG dan pemanfaatan limbah cair menjadi pupuk organik cair (POC) pada IKM tahu, tempe, dan tahu-tempe, serta kombinasi pemanfaatan limbah cair menjadi POC dan minyak jelantah sebagai bahan baku biodiesel pada IKM keripik tempe. Penerapan rekomendasi tersebut mampu menurunkan Human Carcinogenic Toxicity sebesar 8,89–95,54%, Freshwater Ecotoxicity sebesar 1,54–8,54%, dan Marine Eutrophication sebesar 0,15–2,96%.
