Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi otomasi industri menuntut sistem kendali yang andal dan efisien, namun tingginya biaya Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) komersial menjadi hambatan signifikan bagi institusi pendidikan dalam menyediakan fasilitas pelatihan praktis. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang, membangun, dan menguji prototipe PLC berbasis mikrokontroler PIC16F877A sebagai alternatif sistem kendali berbiaya rendah dengan fokus pada optimalisasi ketersediaan terminal Input/Output (I/O) sebanyak 5 input dan 5 output yang kompatibel dengan standar tegangan industri 24VDC. Perancangan sistem mencakup rangkaian pembagi tegangan (R1=3,9kΩ dan R2=1kΩ) untuk menurunkan sinyal input dari 24VDC menjadi ±4,9VDC yang aman bagi mikrokontroler, serta modul relay 24VDC sebagai antarmuka output. Pemrograman logika kendali dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak LDMicro yang mendukung kompilasi langsung Ladder Diagram menjadi file heksadesimal tanpa konversi tambahan, kemudian diunduh ke mikrokontroler melalui PICkit3 via antarmuka ICSP. Pengujian dilakukan secara bertahap meliputi pengujian perangkat keras (catu daya, rangkaian input, dan rangkaian output), pengujian delapan fungsi dasar Ladder Diagram (Normally Open, Normally Closed, AND, OR, Self-Holding, Timer ON-Delay, Timer OFF-Delay, dan Counter Up), serta pengujian sistem terintegrasi pada trainer kit berupa program lampu berjalan (running light). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan eksekusi logika sesuai pada seluruh skenario pengujian, dengan deviasi waktu Timer ON-Delay sebesar rata-rata +0,84% dan Timer OFF-Delay sebesar rata-rata +1,00% dari nilai preset, serta scan cycle sistem sebesar 10 ms. Prototipe ini terbukti mampu mengeksekusi fungsi kendali dasar secara akurat dan stabil, sehingga layak digunakan sebagai trainer kit media pembelajaran otomasi industri yang ekonomis dan efektif di lingkungan laboratorium.
