Abstract

Pasar Inpres Kebun Sayur merupakan pasar rakyat berklasifikasi A di Kota Balikpapan yang berperan sebagai pusat perdagangan kebutuhan pokok, batu mulia, perhiasan, dan cenderamata khas Kalimantan Timur. Namun, kondisi eksisting pasar menunjukkan berbagai permasalahan, seperti kualitas bangunan yang menurun, utilitas yang tidak memadai, sirkulasi yang semrawut, serta kurangnya kenyamanan dan aksesibilitas bagi pengguna. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan fungsi pasar belum berjalan optimal sehingga diperlukan upaya revitalisasi. Perancangan ini bertujuan merevitalisasi Pasar Inpres Kebun Sayur melalui pendekatan Adaptive Architecture untuk meningkatkan kualitas fisik, fungsi, dan fleksibilitas ruang pasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah Programming and Designing yang meliputi pengumpulan data, analisis, penyusunan program ruang, dan pengembangan konsep desain. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan dua bangunan utama, yaitu pasar basah dan pasar kering, yang disusun berdasarkan karakteristik aktivitas dan kebutuhan ruang masing-masing. Penerapan Adaptive Architecture diwujudkan melalui fleksibilitas, konvertibilitas, ekspandibilitas, durabilitas, dan sistem modular sehingga bangunan mampu beradaptasi terhadap perubahan kebutuhan pengguna. Desain fasad menggunakan elemen perforated sebagai respons terhadap iklim tropis untuk mengurangi radiasi matahari dan meningkatkan ventilasi alami. Selain itu, desain mengoptimalkan sirkulasi, utilitas, dan ruang publik yang mendukung aktivitas sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Penerapan pendekatan adaptive juga terlihat melalui perubahan fungsi pasar menjadi kawasan perdagangan yang lebih terorganisir, nyaman, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan.
