Abstract
Kegiatan Laundry menghasilkan air limbah dengan kandungan fosfat, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), dan kekeruhan yang tinggi sehingga berpotensi mencemari perairan. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan kitosan dari tulang cumi-cumi (Loligo sp.) sebagai biokoagulan untuk menurunkan ketiga parameter tersebut melalui proses koagulasi-flokulasi skala laboratorium. Pembuatan kitosan melalui tahap demineralisasi (HCl 1 M), deproteinasi dan deasetilasi (NaOH 1 M dan 70%), kemudian dilarutkan dalam asam asetat 5%. Uji jar test dilakukan dengan variasi dosis kitosan 0,1–0,5 g/L dan pH air limbah 4, 7, dan 10. Karakteristik awal air limbah menunjukkan fosfat 15,28 mg/L, TSS 158 mg/L, dan kekeruhan 186 NTU. Hasil karakterisasi FTIR mengonfirmasi produk sebagai kitosan dengan derajat deasetilasi (DD) 78%. Kondisi optimum diperoleh pada pH 7 dengan dosis 0,4 g/L dan 0,3 g/L dengan efisiensi penyisihan fosfat 95,9% (akhir: 0,62 mg/L), TSS 97,9% (akhir: 3,35 mg/L), dan kekeruhan 98,03% (akhir: 3,66 NTU). Uji statistik menunjukkan variasi dosis berpengaruh signifikan terhadap ketiga parameter (Kruskal-Wallis, p < 0,05), sedangkan variasi pH hanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penyisihan fosfat (One-Way ANOVA, F = 6,270; p = 0,006).
