Abstract

Proses pengelasan Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) pada baja SS400 berpotensi menimbulkan tegangan sisa dan perubahan struktur mikro yang dapat memengaruhi kualitas serta keandalan sambungan las. Untuk mengurangi dampak tersebut, diperlukan Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) yang dikombinasikan dengan pemilihan media pendingin yang tepat. PWHT dilakukan pada suhu 650°C dengan waktu penahanan selama 15 menit, kemudian spesimen didinginkan menggunakan tiga jenis media pendingin, yaitu oli SAE 20W-50, radiator coolant, dan palm oil. Hasil menunjukkan kekuatan sambungan las diatas kekuatan base metal, dibuktikan semua spesimen patah di area base metal (BM). Analisis statistik menggunakan Two Way Anova menunjukan bahwa media pendingin dan durasi pencelupan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap beberapa, namun tidak semua terhadap sifat mekanik. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa media pendingin, durasi pencelupan, dan interaksi keduanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tegangan tarik (p=0,000; p=0,002; p=0,014) dan tegangan luluh (p=0,000; p=0,001; p=0,005). Pada pengujian kekerasan juga memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan pada setiap daerah las (p<0,005).
