Abstract

Pada penelitian ini diuji karakteristik dari material anoda dan performa prototipe baterai pouch cell dengan anoda berbasis karbon kulit kakao yang dimodifikasi menggunakan silika geotermal (SiO2-G) sebagai material dopan. Biomassa limbah kulit kakao (Theobroma cacao L.) akan diimpregnasi dengan aktivator FeCl3 selama 24 jam. Konsentrasi aktivator yang digunakan adalah 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 5 M. lalu, kulit kakao akan diaktivasi dengan temperatur 800°C selama 1 jam. Setelah itu, dilanjutkan dengan proses doping silika geotermal dengan metode impregnasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampel SiO2G/C-5M memiliki hasil terbaik dalam penelitian ini. Karakterisasi menggunakan FTIR, SEM-EDX dan luas permukaan dari sampel SiO2-5M memiliki luas permukaan yang mencapai 741.68 m2/g. Hal ini juga berbanding lurus dengan hasil uji elektrokimia dengan metode Cyclic voltammetry yang memiliki kapasitas spesifik mencapai 405.56 mAh/g. Tegangan yang dihasilkan sampel dengan anoda SiO2-G/C-5M mencapai 3.083 V.
