Abstract

Pra-rancangan pabrik High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) dari etilena dengan proses polimerisasi fase cair metode NOVA dirancang untuk memenuhi peningkatan kebutuhan HDPE dalam negeri serta mengurangi ketergantungan impor. Pabrik direncanakan berkapasitas 250.000 ton/tahun dengan waktu operasi 330 hari per tahun dan 24 jam per hari. Bahan baku utama yang digunakan adalah etilena, sedangkan hidrogen berfungsi sebagai pengatur berat molekul. Sikloheksana digunakan sebagai pelarut, TiCl₄ sebagai katalis Ziegler-Natta, dan TEAL sebagai ko-katalis. Proses produksi meliputi persiapan bahan baku, polimerisasi dalam dua reaktor CSTR seri pada suhu 180°C dan tekanan 50 atm, pemurnian melalui flash drum, recycle pelarut dan komponen yang masih bernilai, serta pembentukan pelet menggunakan extruder. Lokasi pabrik dipilih di Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon (KIEC), Banten, karena dekat dengan sumber etilena, hidrogen, pelabuhan, utilitas, dan pasar pengguna HDPE. Hasil evaluasi ekonomi menunjukkan nilai TCI sebesar USD 136.931.187,28, TPC sebesar USD 321.926.175,96, ROI 73%, BEP 23%, DPBP 2,207 tahun, DCFR 36,55%, dan NPV USD 745.189.729,774. Berdasarkan hasil analisis teknis dan ekonomi, pabrik HDPE ini dinilai layak untuk dikaji lebih lanjut karena mendukung penguatan industri petrokimia nasional dan pemenuhan kebutuhan plastik teknik di Indonesia
