Abstract

Batubara lignit merupakan batubara peringkat rendah yang memiliki kandungan substansi humat cukup tinggi sehingga berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber asam humat bernilai tambah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi NaOH pada proses alkalisasi terhadap yield, gugus fungsional, dan karakteristik pori asam humat hasil ekstraksi batubara lignit. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan menggunakan larutan NaOH dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,55 M, 0,60 M, dan 0,70 M pada suhu 60°C selama 2 jam, kemudian dipresipitasi menggunakan HCl hingga pH 1–2. Karakterisasi dilakukan menggunakan FTIR dan BET/BJH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yield asam humat meningkat dari 8,14% pada konsentrasi NaOH 0,55 M menjadi 8,62% pada 0,60 M, kemudian menurun menjadi 6,08% pada 0,70 M. Analisis FTIR menunjukkan keberadaan gugus hidroksil (O–H), alifatik (C–H), aromatik (C=C), dan gugus beroksigen (C–O) yang merupakan karakteristik khas asam humat. Analisis BET/BJH pada sampel optimum (NaOH 0,60 M) menghasilkan luas permukaan pori sebesar 0,074 m²/g, volume pori sebesar 0,00135 cm³/g, dan radius pori sebesar 47,53 nm yang menunjukkan karakteristik material berpori. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, konsentrasi NaOH 0,60 M merupakan kondisi optimum pada proses ekstraksi asam humat dari batubara lignit dengan yield tertinggi sebesar 8,62%.
