Abstract

Pra-rancangan pabrik etilbenzena (C₈H₁₀) direncanakan dengan kapasitas produksi sebesar 53.000 ton/tahun dan beroperasi secara kontinyu selama 330 hari per tahun. Pabrik akan berlokasi di Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon (KIEC), Banten, yang dipilih berdasarkan ketersediaan bahan baku, kemudahan akses transportasi, ketersediaan utilitas, dan kedekatan dengan pasar. Bahan baku utama yang digunakan adalah benzena dan etilena yang direaksikan melalui proses alkilasi menggunakan teknologi Lummus Crest Process dengan katalis Zeolit Y dalam reaktor trickle bed pada kondisi operasi sekitar 250°C dan 38 bar. Produk hasil reaksi kemudian dimurnikan melalui rangkaian unit pemisahan hingga diperoleh etilbenzena dengan kemurnian tinggi. Untuk menunjang operasional pabrik, digunakan berbagai fasilitas utilitas yang meliputi unit pengolahan air, sistem penyediaan steam, cooling water, listrik, refrigerant, Therminol VP-1 sebagai media pemanas, serta unit pengolahan limbah. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi ekonomi, pabrik ini memerlukan Total Capital Investment(TCI) sebesar Rp101,911 miliar dan menunjukkan parameter kelayakan ekonomi yang baik dengan Return on Investment (ROI) sebesar 94,38%, Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 55,37%, dan Discounted PayBack Period (DPBP) sebesar 0,327 tahun. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pabrik etilbenzena yang dirancang layak untuk didirikan dan dikembangkan baik dari aspek teknis maupun ekonomi.
