Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi sudut spot weld dengan metode Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) terhadap sifat mekanik baja SS400. Industri otomotif membutuhkan proses pengelasan yang efisien dan mampu menghasilkan sambungan yang kuat, terutama pada panel bodi mobil yang merupakan struktur utama kendaraan. Metode Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) yang umum digunakan memiliki keterbatasan pada pelat tebal atau area sudut, sehingga FCAW menjadi alternatif yang potensial karena fleksibilitas posisi, penetrasi dalam, dan kualitas sambungan yang lebih baik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan variasi sudut spot weld sebesar 30°, 45°, dan 60° pada pelat SS400 dengan ketebalan 0,8 mm. Pengujian dilakukan melalui shear tensile test untuk mengukur kekuatan geser dan metalografi untuk mempelajari struktur mikro hasil pengelasan. Hasil uji geser menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan sudut pengelasan dari 30° ke 60° memberikan peningkatan nilai kekuatan geser sambungan. Sudut sebesar 60° menghasilkan kekuatan maksimum tertinggi sebesar 101.45 Kn/mm² dibandingkan sudut 30° dan 45°. Struktur mikro yang teridentifikasi terdiri atas ferit , ferit acicular, dan perlit. Berdasarkan fraksi volume, pada sudut 30° diperoleh 31% ferit, 53% ferit acicular, dan 16% perlit. Pada sudut 45° diperoleh 26% ferit, 55% ferit acicular, dan 19% perlit, sedangkan pada sudut 60° diperoleh 21% ferit, 58% ferit acicular, dan 21% perlit.
