Abstract
Pembentukan Etil Benzoat dengan esterifikasi berlangsung di dalam reaktor CSTR dengan suhu 140 oC dan tekanan 2 atm. Reaksi esterifikasi dapat memberikan konversi yang tinggi dengan menggunakan reaktan berlebih yaitu etanol. Konversi yang dihasilkan mencapai 96%. Produk utama yang dihasilkan berupa etil benzoat yang diproduksi sebanyak 15000 ton/tahun dan menghasilkan produk samping berupa benzil alkohol sebanyak 667.5 ton/tahun dan natrium sulfat sebanyak 704.880 ton/tahun. Utilitas dibagi menjadi beberapa bagian, seperti unit penyedia dan pengolahan air, unit penyedia steam dan bahan bakar, unit penyedia udara instrumen, dan unit penyedia listrik. Kebutuhan Air sanitasi mencapai 41.550 L/hari,kebutuhan air pendingin sebanyak 161,739 kg/jam, kebutuhan steam mencapai 2364 kg/jam, total kebutuhan power yang dibutuhkan sebesar 12,000 kW pertahun, dan kebutuhan bahan bakar sebesar 1,204,393 L/tahun. Pegawai yang bekerja sebanyak 277 orang dan pabrik memiliki luas tanah seluas 17.000 m2 yang di dirikan di Cilacap, Jawa Tengah. Pabrik memiliki modal tetap sebesar Rp 515,457,670,292.86 dan Modal kerja sebesar Rp 90,963,118,286.98 Laju pengembalian modal pada pabrik sebesar 42.55 % dan waktu pengembalian modal selama 3.31 tahun.
