Abstract
Bentuk Kapal tongkang yang lebih sederhana dibandingkan kapal lainnya sering dilakukan modifikasi serta inovasi, salah satunya mengonversinya menjadi jenis kapal lain, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan transportasi pengangkut penumpang. Salah satunya, KMP Liputan XII rute Ketapang–Gilimanuk merupakan hasil konversi dari tongkang, dimana dilakukan penambahan jumlah penumpang, pintu rampa, ruang akomodasi, tinggi sarat dan perubahan konstruksi sekat kedap. Sehingga perlu dianalisis segi stabilitas kebocoronnya, sesuai Persyaratan Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Consolidated Edition 2009 Chapter II-1 part B-1 , dengan menggunakan metode probabilistic. Agar didapatkan jumlah maksimum kompartemen yang mampu menahan jika terjadi kebocoran dengan menggunakan bantuan software maxsurf. Dimana melakukan perbandingan antara nilai indeks A yang dicapai (Attained Subdivision) dan nilai indeks R yang disyaratkan (Required Subdivision) sesuai persyratan SOLAS. Berdasarkan standart dari SOLAS nilai indeks A harus lebih besar dari indeks R atau minimal sama dengan indeks R. Diketahui pada Kapal Motor Penumpang (KMP) yang sudah dikonversi dari tongkang terdapat penambahan penumpang sebesar 210, ABK 18 orang, truck 20 unit dan mobil kecil 6 unit sehingga nilai indeks R akan bertambah. Dari hasi analisis ini di dapatkan maksimum jumlah zona yang mampu bertahan saat terjadi kebocoron yaitu berjumlah 3 kompartement, selain itu didapatkan indeks A sebesar 0.744173 dan R 0.700909, dimana telah memenuhi persyaratan dari SOLAS.
