Abstract

The admission of new students is carried out by both public and private universities as a selection process for prospective new students. This activity serves as the starting point for identifying high-quality prospective students. Every year, the Kalimantan Institute of Technology conducts the admission of new students through several stages. Currently, some of the stages of the admission process at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology are conducted online, specifically during the new student registration phase. However, there are still limitations in the online registration platform, which require prospective new students to periodically check the PMB ITK website for updates on registration status and the latest information regarding ITK's new student admissions. To address this issue, research has been conducted to develop a mobile-based application as one of the platforms for new student registration at ITK. This research utilizes the Personal Extreme Programming method for application development, with the Laravel framework for API development and the Flutter framework for mobile application development. There are 28 use cases, and five iterations have been completed to implement these use cases. The testing phases include white-box and black-box testing. The PXP method has been successfully applied in this research. The mobile-based PMB ITK application provides an alternative platform for the ITK registration process, expanding beyond the limitations of the website.
