Abstract
Magnesium klorida merupakan senyawa kimia anorganik yang banyak diaplikasikan di berbagai industri seperti tekstil, farmasi, katalis, dan lain-lain. Berdasarkan Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) tahun 2024, kebutuhan impor magnesium klorida mencapai 6.588 ton dan rata-rata pertumbuhan 10 tahun terakhir, yaitu sebesar 25,10%. Magnesium Klorida memiliki banyak potensi salah satunya ialah peran sebagai katalis seperti Shell High Activity Catalyst (SHAC), dan bahan untuk produksi industri serta karet sintesis melalui proses polimerisasi. Magnesium klorida dibuat dari air laut dan asam klorida melalui metode regenerasi asam klorida. reaktor CSTR pada suhu 35°C untuk meningkatkan kemurnian MgCl2 dan meregenerasikan HCl. Produksi diawali dengan pemurnian air laut menggunakan crystallizer dan centrifuge untuk mengendapkan garam, seperti gypsum, NaCl, dan glauber salt. Larutan brine kemudian diabsorpsi dengan gas HCl dalam kolom absorber dan dilakukan proses regenerasi HCl melalui reaktor CSTR dan stripper untuk mendapatkan MgCl2. Pabrik dirancang dengan kapasitas 25.000 ton/tahun yang berlokasi di Kawasan Industri Panca Puri, Cilegon, dengan pertimbangan ketersedian bahan baku, infrastruktur, serta pasar untuk proses distribusi. Pabrik mampu menghasilkan MgCl2 secara efisien dan ramah lingkungan, serta dapat mendukung pengurangan ketergantungan terhadap impor melalui metode regenerasi HCl. Hasil kelayakan ekonomi dengan analisa ekonomi menunjukkan BEP sebesar 22%, ROI sebesar 62%, dan DCFR sebesar 32,61%.
